Seeing a conversation going on in a group about setting S.M.A.R.T goals and that being the ‘best’ way to make sure you reach your goals.
Sure, it’s true if your goals are to continue being mediocre and never reach your true potential, then go ahead.
But here’s why this is a terrible idea…
When we look at the format for smart goals…
S – specific
M – measurable
A – achievable
R – realistic
T – time frame
Now, do you really think that anyone with real success got to the point they are at by setting goals that are achievable or realistic?
Can you imagine Elon Musk trying to get to Mars or creating Tesla based on a realistic or achievable goal?
Of course not.
That’s why S.MA.R.T. goals are simply there for people with no real desire or ambition…
Designed purely to take the overwhelm, stress and pressure out of making changes to get them to feel good about what they are doing.
That’s why most life coaches and personal development programs are built around them…
As they’re safe, easily to follow and get quick and easy ‘results’.
But at the end of the day, average thoughts, actions and decisions lead to an average life.
And if you want to actually reach your TRUE potential and get exponential results…
Then you need to push yourself above what feels comfortable.
Above what others expect, think and believe is possible.
After all, nothing great was ever created out of what is easy, comfortable or from watching from the sidelines.
